FLORENCE + ROME
We were only in each city for a few days, but reminded again why Italy is so great. The food, the architecture, the art. The central part of Florence seems more crowded than last time I was there, even in somewhat rainy weather. We had incredible food, I found a decent gluten pizza, and I got to return to one of my favorite gelato spots. I think however, the gelato place near our house in Sicily was perhaps better.
We swapped out our luggage for some new stuff. All of our belongings now fit in a carry-on and a backpack. I’m personally impressed. Our backpacks were getting too bulky and heavy and annoying airports.
We ate some incredible meals with my parents in Rome, the weather held out, only drizzling a bit through much of our stay. Roscioli Roma and Armando al Pantheon were both fantastic. Went to Villa Borghese which was an incredible collection of works.
Any way, we left Rome thinking about when to return. Dreaming of burrata and the perfect sundried tomatoes until then…
